Anthony Hawkins - Instructor

Current full-time police officer with 9 years of experience and currently assigned as a road patrol officer. Anthony’s police experience includes working as a plainclothes detective, uniformed criminal interdiction, field training officer, and department firearms instructor for multiple weapons platforms. Anthony has been a member of his department’s SWAT team for the past 6 years where he has spent time as an entry team member. During this time Anthony has had the opportunity to attend many SWAT and active violence orientated classes to include SWAT team leader courses, high threat CQB tactics, and is a high threat vehicle engagement, and state certified active violence response instructor. 

In addition to his years of experience as a law enforcement officer, Anthony is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a presidential guard at the White House to President George Bush, and subsequently served the U.S. State Department as a security contractor overseas, in both hostile and non-hostile countries.

 During his time in the military and law enforcement, Anthony found his love in martial arts, particularly; Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Anthony is proud to have received instruction from both Professor Jorge Gurgel and Professor Kevin Watson in both of these disciplines.

 It is with this combined knowledge and experience that Anthony strives to take a student first, evidence based approach to instructing. He takes great pride and sees it as a personal responsibility that every student he teaches is better prepared for everyday, real world encounters and leaves with a greater self-confidence in ones abilities.
